1.About us

Manx Willow Coffins & Caskets (MWCC) is a sole trade business registered on the Isle of Man (Business Reg: 031756B), based at Shinbone, Somerset Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM2 5AE. We make and sell handwoven willow coffins and caskets.

2.Using this website

This website is provided for information about our coffins, how they are made, and the materials used. You may view and use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, reproduce or republish content from this site without our permission, except for your own personal use.

We aim to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that it is complete or error-free, and we may change it at any time without notice.

3.Enquiries and orders

Any coffin is made to order, and a bespoke coffin takes on average 4–5 days to complete. A small number of coffins may be held in stock and available within a day if suitable. Prices are always agreed in advance before any work begins.

An enquiry or request through this website, by email, or in conversation does not constitute a contract. A contract for the supply of a coffin is formed only when a price has been agreed and you have confirmed the order with us. We may decline an order where we are unable to meet a timescale or requirement.

4.Prices

Coffins cost from £700. A larger or more bespoke coffin will cost more; the final price depends on the amount of materials and the time it takes to make. Prices are always agreed in advance. Any deposit or payment is arranged with you directly; we do not take payments through this website.

5.Our coffins

Each coffin is made by hand. Like every individual rod of willow, each coffin is unique in its subtle variations in texture, colour and form. These natural variations are a characteristic of a handmade product and are not a defect.

Our coffins are biodegradable and suitable for burial or cremation. They are made from willow, hemp rope, bamboo, untreated softwood, OSB board, organic cotton and a cornstarch liner. Where a supplier detail is shown as "to follow", we will add it as the information becomes available.

6.Links to other websites

This site may link to other websites, including funeral directors and reference sites, for information only. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of those sites, and a link does not imply endorsement.

7.Intellectual property

The content of this website — including text, images, the MWCC logo and the overall design — belongs to Manx Willow Coffins & Caskets and may not be used without permission, except for your own personal, non-commercial use.

8.Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of this website or reliance on its content, except in respect of our liability for a coffin we have supplied to you under a confirmed order.

9.Governing law

These terms and any contract formed with us are governed by the laws of the Isle of Man. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Isle of Man courts.

10.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date above shows when they were last updated. Any changes will be posted on this page.
