A natural choice
Why a willow coffin
Made from Buff Somerset Willow used in traditional basket weaving, with integral rope handles, toggle closures, an organic or recycled cotton liner and the option of Manx tartan or Three Legs material.
A MWCC willow coffin takes on average 4–5 days to complete if a bespoke size; a small number are held in stock, available within a day if suitable. It forms a key part of an eco-friendly or green funeral, which aims to minimise environmental impact.

Willow absorbs CO2 during photosynthesis, released back into the atmosphere and soil when buried or burned, restarting the cycle.

No plastic veneer, foam linings and synthetic glues which release pollutants, and no metal handles, hinges and screws which don't burn.

The Somerset Levels — the most important wetland area in the UK. Basket-making willow, known as "Withies", has been grown here for two centuries, and it is now the only area left where it is still cultivated.
